WASHINGTON - Federal regulators have failed to correct mounting and long-
standing maintenance deficiencies at American Airlines despite receiving
detailed complaints about the carrier's problems, according to a federal
investigative report due to be released today.
The investigation, by the U.S. Department of Transportation's inspector
general, didn't ident
