Citizenship Requirement: U.S. Citizen
Job Description:
• The Chief Inspector is responsible for all FAA regulatory, safety,
EPA and Haz Mat oversight at the repair station.
• This person must hold a valid A&P License and have extensive Quality
and Inspection background.
• The individual will have the authority and responsibility to make
final decisions on all airworthiness matters and will be the primary contact
with the FAA FSDO assigned PMI and all customer quality issues.
Core Responsibilities:
• Ensures that all work performed is in accordance with approved AMM,
SRM, RSM, QCM, Repair Station Ratings, FAR's, and current company Policies
and Procedures.
• Ensures that all Project paperwork packages are prepared in
accordance with RSM/QCM, have assigned Work Order numbers and Production is
fully trained on the Customers paperwork policies and procedures.
• Ensures that the FAA approved Training Program, including OJT
training, is followed, and all personnel training records are kept current,
through a monthly audit program to Insure that all Inspection and
Maintenance Personnel are trained to the standards listed in the approved
Training Manual.
• A report will be generated every 30 days listing the status of each
employee and any future training requirements.
• The President and facility General Manager will receive a copy.
• Responsible for all activities of Inspection personnel, final
inspection checklist, designated inspectors program and rosters, all
receiving inspections, facilities audits, safety audits, environmental
audits and Haz Mat audits and paperwork.
• Accomplishes receiving inspections on all incoming aircraft, paying
close attention to all fuselage dents and dings, all windows, flight
controls and composite areas.
• A digital picture file will be established for all aircraft being
inducted for work into the facility for future reference.
• Conduct monthly CASE audits of the facility, in phases, to insure
that a complete CASE audit has been conducted in a 12 month period.
• Audit findings will be submitted to the responsible supervisor/
manager for correction, if findings require action, the President and the
facility General Manager.
• Corrective actions are due back from the responsible individual
within 7 days after receipt.
• An audit meeting will be held each month to report progress and
discuss corrective actions.
• Ensure complete familiarity and compliance with the company's Basics
program.
• The General Manager will be notified immediately of any failure to
comply with the Basics program.
• Conduct Hangar compliance audits daily.
• Reports all non-compliance to the GM.
• Responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of the company's
Calibrated Tool System.
• Ensure that Precision Tools and Test Equipment are properly
calibrated, set calibration intervals, and that the Company's Calibration
Records are kept current and calibration
stickers are installed on all tooling and equipment as prescribed by the
program.
• Maintain the facilitate Approved Vendors List.
• Maintain the Customer approved RII and designated inspector roster
as well as the RSM requirements for the supervisory and management roster.
Requirements:
• The person must have an A&P License, with Inspection Authorization
preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field or equivalent
career experience.
• Must have a thorough understanding of the current Federal Aviation
Regulations, as well as inspection methods, techniques, and equipment used
to determine the quality or airworthiness of an article undergoing
maintenance, repair or alterations.
• Must be familiar with FAR Part 145 Repair Station requirements.
