For non-UA member, it seems the allowance is only 1 bag, 23kg.
If you are a UA mielage member, even the lowest status will allow 2 bags.
If you have a UA member friend, you probably can ask him/her to take you to
the airport, pretend that he/she will also fly UA and help you check in
first. I did that before, but not guaranteed.
