winning is something pitchers can't control at all
not your fault if you throw a complete game, giving up one run
and your team get blanked, and it's not your awesome pitching
that wins a 8-7 game. how else do you explain a guy with
a sub-3 ERA LOSING 11 games?? or a guy with 3.25 ERA going 15-14??
or how about having a losing record(9-10) with 3.19 ERA?
those are results of no-support, not bad pitching. glavine didn't

each year?? careerwise schilling has a lower ERA, that's a fact
next, glavine does nothing for the braves batters, they always
had better hitters than philly. glavine makes braves a better
team, true, but just because the braves are better than the phillies
doesn't mean glavine is better than schilling, no?
next, glavine has way way less SOs, we already established that.
glavine gives up more hits per inning, so you are saying he's

than CS. CS's low era come a lot from early year relief and great
performance in recent years, but most of the 90's glavine has better
record.
as these two guys has basically similiar ERA, glavine has about 90
more wins, that doesn't mean nothing. as u said, u can benefit to
pitch for a good team to get some more wins, but 90 wins is too big
to be just accounted for this fact. i've said 200+ wins and 5 20+
win season is by no me

what happened to my post??

dang it, that was a long one
but anyways I was just saying I think the similar school
puts more weight into games played in, games starts, and
total innings than other factors, cuz the guys who are comparable
to schilling all were relievers as well for a big part of
their career, about same number of innings (~2000), comparable
ERA, but schilling has better hits/9 numbers than most of them,
and it's not even close on the k/9 numbers

ft ft. I guess you have never watched his pitching.
The way he pitches is the outside conner. in Every first inning of
his game, he tries to find that conner from the umpair (if the umpair
in that night does not buy him, he's in trouble;
and that's the reason he always needs
the first inning to settle down.). Therefore he gives up more hits and
walks more people intentionally and smartly.
As G said he does not have a strong arm
