a triple. And frankly, if he positioned himself well, he should have caught
that ball. In the worst case, he needed to keep the ball in front of him.
That was his job. He failed.
This was why Nelson Cruz was lamented by Ron Washington after Game 6. And
that play cost Rangers a championship. I think Ron Washington was to be
blamed for that play as well. Nelson Cruz pulled his groin in his last at-
bat in that game. Ron Washington should have made a defensive replacement at
the bottom of 9th.
But this is all shoulda woulda, and really does not matter. The result is
that Cardinals caught the lightning in the bottle. That post by that Cubs
fan summed it up pretty well.
