like to trade melo just for favors. no reason favors has a better trade
value than bynum. bynum is still
young, still has the potential for an alpha dog. adding artest and nene in
the swap keeps both team more
balanced. this added piece favors lakers, but denver is going to lose nene
for free very likely anyway.
I really believe it is a fair trade. if denver does not like artest (due to
his long contract), how about replacing
artest with luke + pick, or even MB + pick?
i really hoped to get lawson. but i doubt denver will give up him. So i just
leave him alone. if we can swap
blake <-> lawson, that is like a dream.
If denver likes to dump JR, that is great also. Ideally a shannon<->JR swap
sounds good, but shannon has
the veto right due to bird exception. so we can only offer sth like ebanks,
etc.
So we have the following options:
1) bynum + artest <-> melo + nene
2) bynum + artest + pick + ebanks/character <-> melo + nene + jr
3) bynum + artest + > = 2 picks + blake <-> melo + nene + lawson
u can replace artest with luke + pick or MB + pick in any option. And lakers
add cash also.
after the trade, essentially, the line up is like
front court: gasol + lamar + nene. not physical enough, maybe worse facing
celtics
sf: melo + mb/luke/artest (1-2 of them will go)
sg: kobe + shannon/jr
pg: fish + blake/lawson
that is definitely an upgrade. melo is definitely under rated now, and it is
the best time to get him, when the
melo stock is at its bottom. melo is always a top 5 super-star, for the next
5-10 years. it is an instance
upgrade and a long term win.
