Pearland Aquatics team member Catherine Wu has been ranked No. 1 in the
nation in 11-12 age group girls 200-yard backstroke, according to PEAK coach
Juan Caraveo.
Wu, 12, is also No. 2 nationally in the 100 backstroke, and the rankings
were finalized by USA Swimming after the season ended in August.
She recorded her best marks as an 11-year-old at the Texas Age Group
Swimming Championships (TAGS), and also finished eighth nationally in the 50
-yard backstroke.
The times put Wu No. 1 in Texas in all three backstroke events, and set
state marks in the 100 (1:08.96) and 200 (2:28.11), and tied the record in
the 50 (33.13).
She added second places in the 100 and 200 butterfly, and a fourth in the
200 fly, and was the meet's high-point scorer in the 11-12 division. |

I think chinese american can do very well in tennis. Michael Chang is only 5
'9, he was already becoming the top 3 player in the world at that time.
Given better body condition(3 inches taller) and similar training, a chinese
player could reach top as well. |
