Advanced Research group in Illumina is currently looking for an assay
technology scientist, the person will play an integral role in
developing innovative assay technologies for second-generation
sequencing and DNA array platforms. Primary responsibilities will
include assay technology research and the integration of assays with
micro/nanofabrication technologies. The candidate will be Ph.D. in
molecular biology, genomics/genetics, analytical chemistry or similar
scientific discipline. (details see job description attached)

They have been trying to fill this job for over a year. I have known
candidate (fresh PhD with chemical biology/genomics/genetics, small
molecule screening research background) from UC system declining this job
offer. I personally think it's a good position in a good company, but
they don't hire everyday joe...

发帖数: 844 | 5 A good match is not easy for both sides, that's why the HM asked me to post
here. Research scientist is not a job like RA that everyone with some
background can do. But a person with very strong background usually
considers faculty positions....When will Biology be a mature, industrialized
field like EE/CS? So many people get stuck in the postdoc stage.

发帖数: 357 | 11 工作未必会是100% match的，差不多了就试着投吧，很多时候你的CV要跟着job
description改，突出该突出的，如果是fresh，post CV用处有限，还是要自己努力找
，通过各种关系直接把简历递到hiring manager手里。

发帖数: 29 | 12 这个位置很诡异啊，几个月前我试着投过，觉着自己还挺 match 的，结果，几个小时
之后就收了据信，考虑到时差，基本上是 HR 上班没怎么看就直接给据了。以为是投晚
了找到合适的了，结果最近又看到到处做广告。但是因为当时系统里就被据了，现在简
历 update 了也不能重新投了。
