To All Researchers:
The Office of Research Integrity has released an interactive video on
research misconduct. In "The Lab: Avoiding Research Misconduct," you
become the lead characters in an interactive movie and make decisions
about integrity in research that can have long-term consequences. The
simulation addresses Responsible Conduct of Research topics such as
avoiding research misconduct, mentorship responsibilities, handling of
data, responsible authorship, and questionable research practices.
This is a really interesting resource that applies to all investigators
whether your research involves human or animal subjects. Clinical
investigators will also benefit from this interactive movie. A few of us
have played this game and it is actually fun; way more fun that you would
expect from either a topic such as research integrity or from a federal
agency.
