This is a nice piece from Dr. Thomas Graf, better and more comprehensive
than the piece from cell editorial in 2006 and another one from SIr John
Gurdon himself...
it is a nice and easy lunch reading for those who is outside of the field
but wants to know the history and who should be credited with the Nobel....
In my mind, there isn't much controversy here...really a very clear cut case
...
for expert in the field, hopefully it shall help refresh your mind as how
exactly we have got here and may unexpectedly give you some new thoughts...
For information, Dr. Graf is a well-known leader in the related field and
was in NYC but now in SPain I believe...and he published a nice study in
Cell 2004(?) on the topic together with his student Xie(with Orkin or Melton
in harvard now)--a friend of some on this board. |

只是，在TG国看资料不易，我都是七里八拐的到处找人要pdf
另外，transdifferentiation，有一派人看法是，没有什么transdifferentiation or
iPS. it is from the adult stem cell in the primary culture.
I have no idea about the arguement.. |

can just message me...As for transdifferentiation and iPS...the argument is
done in my mind! From myoD--the case was already very clear...btw, it
happens naturally all the time--EMT is a well know phenomena

这个领域初级和中级研究者必读，可以省去你自己费力搜罗分析这个领域
高级研究者要另外考虑，如何击破壁垒，进入无人地带
这些问题，要阅读几篇经典文献，反复考虑几个月
中国那些60岁以上的 ‘院士’，根本没有能力写这种review，他们都已经TG官僚化了 |

Well, many could if they desire to but the question is whether they desire
and deserve...The Chinese system is rotted at the root not necessarily the
people...However unless we could have a revolutionary overhaul from the top
which is unlikely...we would have to do something to the mass first before any
change to the root/the system...just my two cents...Which is exactly why I
support RY, SYG, XDW and PMM... |
