Based on current situation, it was predicted to have 90% of chance of
success. I think there is 95% chance. And it appears to be remarkably
effective for stage IIIB. Not effective for more advanced patients
There is a trial in Asia called "Inspire" probably in Hong kong and
Singapore. Don't know if it is in China. In Japan, it is in phase I. If she
can get in, it is of course free. 1/3 of patients are on placebo. You can
tell if it is a treatment arm or placebo arm by looking at the injection
site after first treatment. The injection site will have inflammation
response whereas the placebo is a saline solution and will not have such
response. |

就是怕万一抽到安慰剂的话，希望能够通过炎症反应判断出来。

发帖数: 229 | 7 It is a maintenance therapy, meaning it is done after radio/Chemotherapy and
before the next treatment. You don't lose any chance of other treatments.
If you figured out you are on placebo, you may choose to drop out. I think
the patient still has to have their own initial radio/chemo therapy before
enrollment into the trial.

On the contrary, they usually get the standard care of the field.
For such treatments, it has to show better benefit/risk profile than the
gold standard (not the true "no treatment placebo")
