top 10 medical school: 1) Research Instructor (or research-track faculty
position), full-time participating in clinical genomic research; 2)
Clinical Molecular/Cytogenetics Fellow, receiving comprehensive and formal
training on molecular diagnosis, human diseases, and clinical research, and
leading to an ABMG certification after two years.
I am not very familiar with the career path of Clinical Mol/
Ctyogeneticist, so look for your inputs and suggestions here. Thanks! |

个的，说就业不错，pay的也好， 这个training位置很少的，能入选很牛啊。

Anyone knows what kind of research Clinical Mol/Cytogenetics Fellow can do
during the training period and how much time they will have for research?

it? Usually it is very competitive to get in such programs.There should be
training guidlines at ACMG website telling you about the training components
(e.g. how long you have to spend in a molecular lab and how long you have
to do a research project, what rotations you need to do, how many cases you
need to study or interpretate...) and the career path etc... |

难。能稍微透漏下楼主的背景吗？也好向楼主学习学习。
这个项目很好，fellow其间工资就很高，听说有的州会到7-8万的样子。然后，拿到资
格证后，工作一般有保障，而且工资也很高。
其实，我也想借机会问问大家，这个资格证回国发展有用吗？

abmg.org也有其他的基本要求。最好其实是和你们program director谈谈，比我们瞎猜
强多了。反正我们学校是大约5个月research时间，一般都在做assay development

My PhD is from Molecular Genetics and Genomics. I did some human genetics
research in graduate school and functional genomics (NextGen Seq) during my
postdoc.
工资is the same as residents/clinical fellows in the GME of Medical School.
