department of neurology at the University of Michigan. The research team is
led by clinical epileptologists.
The research performed uses rats and iPSCs to examine the function epileptic
encephalopathy genes in neurodevelopment and how their mutation lead to
hyperexcitability. CRISPRs, microsurgery, iPSCs, primary cell culture and
cell/molecular biology are platforms to study the gene function in vivo and
in vitro. Therapeutic development are conducted by using multi-electrode
array recording.
