days, right? 我以前从canada海关回来，US custom这边基本都不查的，随便给他看看
I-20就可以了。他应该不会看到我被check的information, if any.

Yes, you can hide your I-94 and return with it instead of I-20. The problem
is, if you are checked but you return with your I-94 and lied about your
visa status, it will leave a record on your status which will cause
unnecessary problems. Of course there is a chance that the custom officer
does not ask for your documents or ask your visa. But if he does, you are
in trouble. There is always a risk. If you plan to return china for
several weeks, it is better to get your visa in China.

I think you can ask the visa officer to get your passport back for traveling
purposes. But then you have to return your passport to Embassy to get visa
stamp when your check is clear.

到的新的I-94和I-797没说一定要在home country才能申请新的h1-b啊？
这个太复杂了吧。我们公司去年还有个和我一样的情况，去canada签证呢。

Since your visa is H1b, it is unlikely to be rejected. But the chance of
checking is high, I agree with above that the visa officer normally has no
idea what biostat is. So in the case of checking, u can't go back to home
country to re-apply coz ur application is already approved but pending
checking. So you are likely stuck in Canada. When the check is clear, you
have to return to the embassy in canada to get your visa... in short, if no
checking, canada trip will be very pleasant, if ther

现在H1B check 的平均时间是三个星期也不到，如果是回国呆好几个礼拜的话，去加墨
签没有任何优势。

不过我自己加墨都去过，嘿嘿，不过那时没check这一说。
