[CYPN] 缅因州Dead River漂流！2012最大水量！
时间：May 11 to May 12, 2012.
地点: Dead River, Maine
活动：这次去的Dead River，是美国东岸最有名也是最长的白水河，全程16mile的不间
断的class III到class V的激流会给你最持久，最刺激的漂流体验！
Dead river每年只会有几次big water releases，5000-6500cfs, 而今年唯一的7000
cfs 超大水量就在我们选的5月12日，位置有限，先到先得！

具体行程：
周五05/11/12 – 下午6点从波士顿出发，到达缅因大约11点，晚上住 cabin （包括在
价格内）
周六05/12/12 – 早餐后9:00在base集合，大约10点开始漂流，US Rafting会提供当天
的午餐 （包括在价格内）下午4点结束，返回波士顿
漂流的时候6-8人一个raft，每个raft会有一个professional guide全程相陪。漂流公
司会提供救生衣，头盔，同时也提供wetsuit和dry top的租借服务。这次漂流的平均难
度是 class IV 到 class V，会有落水的可能，所以要求所有参加者必须会游泳！

住宿+漂流+maine access fee+中饭：每人$95 （50% off)。 这是和US Rafting 协商
后的团队价, 我们的价格远远不到一半. 如果通过商家自己的网站购买，最后的价钱会
很贵： $140 漂流费用，$20午餐，$40周五晚住宿，$13每辆车的access fee，我们谈
判后的价钱只有这个价钱的一半.

Cabin没有暖气，只提供床，需要自己准备充气垫子或者睡袋。

不是在camping site, 而是 private house! 费用包括了一个晚上的住宿，一天的
whitewater trip费用, 午饭的费用以及 private road access fee, 总共加起来只有$

漂流所得的学分等同10次单日训练。想再老大那里获得升级的要抓紧时间获取经验值啦

Hi all,
Thanks for joining the first and the most exciting rafting event hosted by
CYPN this year, we are only three days away from hitting the big water and
so far the weather looks promising on Sat (partially sunny, lower 60s).
This email will be your check list and event reminder.

• If you need ride, you should do it aggressively now. In case of
all the cars are filled, list your information as a passenger in a new row,
and pray for someone nice to adapt you.
• If you are lucky enough to get a spot in other's car, contact the
driver immediately to confirm. Any un-reachable passengers will be deleted
by driver.
• to encourage volunteer drivers there will be NO cost to those who
choose give out carpools: passengers will split all gas/toll costs

• Plan your Friday (5/11) dinner on the way to Maine. Keep in mind
that the earlier you get to lodge, the more choice of beds, so make the
dinner short.
• For Saturday breakfast (5/12), 3 miles North from the lodge is 15
Mile Stream Outfitters with the best breakfast around. Please note that the
rafting checking time is 9:30am at the US rafting shop (where the lodge is)
, plan your breakfast accordingly.
• Saturday lunch is BBQ provided by US rafting, included in the
group price.

• we will stay in 2 houses cross the street and next to US rafting
shop. Physical address: 2981 US Route 201, West Forks, Maine
• each house has 3-5 rooms, each room has 2-5 bedseach. One should
have his/her own bed, full size beds are also available for couples. House
is temperature controlled, well equiped.
• It normally takes about 5-6 hours to drive from Greater Boston
Area to lodging place. Plan your dinner on the way. Most of us will set off
aound 6pm, CYPN officer will stay up and arrange lodging till 1am. Try your
best to get there by mignight.
• check out time is morning, take all your personal belongs to the
car when you heading out for breakfast.

on the river:
• Bathing Suit/Nylon Shorts – Polypro or Nylon Shirt, Nylon
running pants w/o the cotton liner/fleece sweatpants later in season, Fleece
Jacket or Vest (Bring Fleece it helps keep you warm if needed)
• Footwear: Sandals that wrap around your ankle, Old Sneakers or
Water shoes are fine
• Secure Head Straps for Eyeglasses / Waterproof Camera & Sunscreen
• Things you can rent from US rafting: Splash Jackets – a $5
rental fee (they keep your upper-body warm & dry), Full-Wetsuits are
available for $15 (they don’t have wetsuit booties)
onland:
• Change of dry clothes & footwear for the ride home
• You may not need all of this but being prepared is always the
best, if you don’t want to lose it on the river – Leave it behind (This
includes wallets, rings, watches, sunglasses, keys, etc.)
• They will have a key basket at our lodge to put your car keys in
REMEMBER – NO COTTON OR FLIP FLOPS ON THE RIVER

• Bring your GPS if you have one, use the physical address: 2981 US
Route 201, West Forks, Maine
• There is ‘NO’ cell phone service in the area so print your
directions in advance. No signal means no calls, no text, no google maps, no
whatsapp and no facebook.
• Gas Up in Skowhegan as it’s usually less expensive but Berry’s
General store has gas too.
• Bring extra cash to pay to your driver and tip the rafting guide!
Driving direction (you might want to save this in your mobil device or print
it out, when your GPS can't find the exact location, you are going to miss
it):
Take interstate 95 to exit 133, (Skowhegan-Fairfield). Continue North on
Route 201 for 70 miles through Skowhegan & Bingham until you enter The Forks
. You are about 10 minutes away once you enter The Forks. You will drive
past THE MARSHALL INN, then go over a small bridge, then see Berry’s
General Store on the Right, go straight past it about 100 yards and you’ll
see U.S. Rafting on the right.
