many other towns, officials in town need cash badly.
Some people come up with a university station project, which by essence, is
to build 800 units of apartments in town. Developers claimed that this
would solve finicial problems of the town easily. 800 apartments probably
means adding an extra 15% to 20% housing units to the supply side. No
matter how one spins it, this would be a major disaster. The town would
spend much more money on students than it could collect. Don't mention the
impact on housing price and public school quality. To. my surprise, Seems
people there like this idea. Even boston globe is enthusiatsic about that.

According to Wiki, westwood has a population about 14k. This project alone
would bring in extra 2 to 2.5 thousands low income people in. Probably you
don't have children of school age and not plan to sell your house in the
near future.
Why houses in Boston area is expensive? Actually the whole east coast is
terrible. This is in sharp contrast to Chicago, where income is comparable
to Boston. It is the zoning policy. Zoning is the most effeictive way a
town to protect its characteristics. In another way to express it, if you

Actually, I believe those are high end apartment, I would buy one if they
start the project.
I think westwood housing has strong resilient on an event like this.
I may sell my house to change to a big apartment. Apparently I am not

This is ideal for one to setup bunker beds in living room. By any means,
this is not boston harbor.
The project also includes 100 apartments for low income family. Developers
have to do it to get state assistance.
If I am not filthy rich, when I retired, I would definitely move to
relatively low income town, such as Hull, Hingham, and some beautiful towns
in north shore. They are cheaper than metro west. | c********t

I thought it is a mixture of a high-end shopping mall, entertainment, and

High end shopping mall? Do you call target high end? Do you want another
legacy place 5 miles away from legacy place. No, sir, it is megabox stores.
Wegmans is OK as long as it is not 5 miles away from Whole foods.
Why some towns are expensive? It is the supply and demand. Here, in Boston
area, it is the zoning permit. Why surgens and lawywers make more money
than ordinary people? It is also supply and demand.

too fricking expensive for us.
No, sir, this is a bedroom community. Properties in this town tend to have
big lots. People live far away from each other (It is an a$$hole town).
You want restaurant? Go to Needham and Dedham. You want labors? go to
Norwood. Once it was called new dedham. There are lands for businesses,

Buying a condo for your own living after reirement? Economically speaking,
Westwood might not be the good one. You might conside 55+ condos in the
future. They might charge you leg and arms for the maintenance, like those
in Walpole (I couldn't think better ways to lose money on buying a condo at
wrong time and place).
Buying a condo and rent out for the cash flow. You might want a project
much scaled down. If price is right, yes, you and me will be teammates. We
