Job Description: Help Desk Support
Reports to: MIS Director
Schedule: Full-time, Hourly position
Summary: Primarily responsible for providing user-end support of desktop
and network hardware/software. Responsible for the routine operation of
computers and related peripherals; acting as the initial point of contact
for users. Troubleshoot applications and associated hardware. Assist with
the improvement of current office network capabilites.
Typical Duties and Responsibilities:
• Act as initial point of contact for users in resolving “how to”
and problem related questions about the network, desktop systems, software,
and the voicemail system
• Answer users questions with respect to hardware, software, system
problems and other related issues
• Troubleshoot and support company printers, plotters and hardware
• Assist with the training program for new employees
• Assist staff with relocation of desktop systems and keyboard/
mouse trays
• Monitor status of systems and report problems as necessary
• Install, test, update and configure software and hardware on
workstations
• Maintain software audit and network hardware inventory
• Assist with the maintenance of voice-mail, phone systems and
backups
Qualifications: Requires 2-3 years experience in Help Desk Support
position, prior related experience with Windows XP/7; proven proficiency
installing and troubleshooting PC’s and applications; ability to work
effectively in a team environment; must be physically and mentally capable
of performing multiple tasks under pressure and be able to function in a
fast paced environment; strong communications skills required; requires
lifting a minimum of 50 lbs.
Additional Preferred Skills: Experience with Microsoft Office,
architectural design software, plotters and printers. |
