概网上看了一下，考虑入60万左右房子。请教学区选择。版上有推荐Sharon，似乎税很
高，国人很多。我家来自教育差州，孩子姿质一般，就怕会不会学校竞争激烈，孩子压
力太大。Westwood有点超了预算，好象也没多少房子在卖。
自己看了Medfield，似乎价位适中，税不高。小学一般，但初/高中不错。不知交通如
何。还有一个疑虑，就是学校亚裔太少，只有2-3%。
有人熟悉Hopkinston吗？好象到South Station的commute不方便。
请各位给点意见，是否还有其它合适的区？希望能够在六月把房子搞定。先谢谢了。 |

发帖数: 205 | 2 Norwood 房子便宜、交通方便、税也低但是学校不太好，被旁边的 Westwood 和
Sharon 差太多，如果家长抓得紧点儿孩子又不太受小伙伴影响，还是很推荐，60万买
很新很好的房子，我们一年前在 Norwood 和 Westwood 的最后两个房子中很难做选择
，最后还是选了 Westwood，因为小孩性格很受 peer influence。Walpole 还不错就是
commute 不方便。 |

Westwood, even at RT128 Station area. It will take less than 20 minutes in
the morning from 128 Station to South station by train.
There is no train station at Medfield, you have to drive.

房子通常是上了市就立刻卖出去。建议你看看这个房子 225 Dover road,小学
Deerfield,很棒的学校，房子环境好，离 Hale reservation步行的距离，就是 dover
road traffic 有点差，但是这个房子降价好几次了，我听邻居说这家主人 did a nice
job on the house,性价比还是不错的。 |

but bearable by Boston standard. In general, going to South Station will
take approximately one hour. There are train stations at nearby Norwood and
Walpole, which is about 5-12 minutes away, but do look for houses in the
eastern or southern part of the town. Other parts of the town are too remote
for city commute.
Other than commute to the city, Medfield is almost perfect. It is beautiful,
quiet and peaceful. You get bigger lot, larger and newer house. The school
is top notch, but by no means tagged as "exam schools" such as Acton and
Lexington.
In comparison with Newton, Sharon, and Lexington, Medfield has much smaller
Asian population, but the number is on the rise. In fact, in the last few
years, more and more Chinese move to traditional White neighborhoods such as
Wellsley, Concord, Carlisle, even Dover and Sherborn. Westwood's
popularity to Chinese is also a recent phenomena.
Moving to a white neighborhood can be both a blessing and a cursing. On the
negative side, it is harder to make Asian friends at school. On the plus
side, the kid is forced to learn to socialize with non-Asians.
Despite small Chinese population in Medfield, the town does value the
importance of educating its students about China. The elementary school
offers Chinese language program as early as 4th grade and considers moving
it even further to K2 in the near future. Of course, Chinese language
programs offered in American school can never compare with Chinese school.
In this regard, Chinese parents in Medfield usually send their children to
Westwood Chinese school in the weekend.
One thing you might want to take consideration is each town's median house
price. For 600K-700K in Wellesly or Dover, you will almost for sure live in
a "poor" neighborhood. But for the same amount of money, you will live in
an upper middle class neighborhood in Sharon. For parents, it may not matter
; but for kids, sometime it does.

发帖数: 2012 | 26 我们也是从别的低收入州搬过来，原来的房子和这里的差别很大。我们的agent很好，
从头开始慢慢地给我们讲解这边的房子。我觉得你同时要先做好功课，加上个好的
agent,3到4月内应该可以找到你喜欢的房子。我们就是去年3月初开始找，6月底close
。稍微有点仓促，但还能接受。
