However, for the ambiguous doubles that don't fall into any
conventions, they are either penalty oriented, or flexible
(to keep options open). In the former, the responder is
normally expect to convert, and for the latter, the
responder's normal action is to pull.
Last week I played with an old school player, one of the top
experts in bay area , in a club game. We discussed upfront
and it turned out his doubles are primarily for penalty. The |
