The bypassing of 1D is only a checkbox and seems like
completely conventional, but be sure to ask your partner's
as well as opponents' style before any game.
I usually play a weak/strong non-bypassing structure. That
is, I would not bypass 1D after partner's 1C opening with an
extremely good/bad hand. With good hands, the option of D
slam is too great to ignore; and with bad hand, I can pass
pd's 1Major rebid easily with garbage like xxxx xxx xxxx xx,
