But how do you reach 6H instead of 6S?

here, HQJ are both big cards, so 3H is reasonable I believe.
4C shows a filler card, not neccessarily to be control.

since they show fits in both spade and heart.

But it's rather hard to bid the DQ, CJ, and HJ.
