Sx HQxxxx Dxxxxx CKx, I would at least raise 2H to 3H with this hand.
4H is possible when partner holds something like:
SAxxxx HAxxxx Dx CAx
South should double 2H to disclose the psych.
Also, it really makes no diffence what Alan Truscott said about R and S
's bridge. There were just many persons witnessed that R and S cheated.
Also, R and S are not strong enough comparing with Italian guys at that time.

One can always use this to demonstrate that any system won't work at
all, no matter how sophisticate it is.

non-issues. Just leave the history to historians, as we will never see 1st
hand materials and we'll have to allow ourselves to be influenced by writers,
who, may well have biased opinions.

you can say whatever you like. The basic idea of psychic bids is that
it would backfire in some situations. Ok, that's all I want to say about
S's psyche.
When a player knows about his partner's length in H, he can make safe
psychic bids in H. Also, in the law suite, both R and S had to admit that they
used finger signals, but their lawyer "proved" that they didn't take any
advantage from the finger signal, what a big joke!
Anyway, it's really pointless to argue about this issue. You can believ
