than you. As a defender, is it easy to know you need to keep S2? :)

out the specific reasons to do that, it is just a general technique to give
himself more options in later carding. At least on first round of spades,
this is not a hard thing to do. It is much more difficult for West to see
the need to unblock S10 on that trick, in order to avoid trump squeeze.

good to do so for some situation (like this one). But often times, we need
to give pd clear signal, either for count (most likely this case) or
attitude. Card 2 is the most clear signal :)
