Fundamentally, assets refer to something which can bring you "future
benefits".
The benefits which can be used out within one year are called "current assets"
whilst the benefits which can be used out beyond one year are called "non
current assets".
When the current "benefits"/assets are used out, you deduct down the assets
through charging "expenses". "Prepaid expenses" is something which can often
bring you future benefits, hence they are assets. You can later deduct dow |
