Very hard for me to decide:
1. McKinsey definitely has a better brand.
2. BCG pays better and has better work-life balance.
Please help me to compare these two firms, especially their Greater China
practice. Any additional information and comments are highly appreciated. I
am also interested to know the comparison of their exit opportunities and
reputation in Greater China, as well as the personal growth room. My
background is fresh engineering PhD. |

balance, so it might not be the case that ppl there have better life-style.
you might not count on a good life-style there but focus more on opportunity
and career development. |

case is very important. you have to crack all the cases
in most cases, no. but there are exceptions

least. for mck specifically, you advance directly to whichever round you
didn't pass in the previous year. i have a friend who did that.

question

years. one of them didn't pass the second round last year and went
directly to the second round this time and got into the final round. with
the other person i don't know whether he had to go thru the whole thing
again or not, but he got to the final rounds both times yet no offer :)

这个better pay and better work/life balance,说老实话better很有限。而且工作累
不累跟具体项目的关系，比跟公司的关系大多了。
名声上来说，麦确实响些。我当初只申请了一家，没尝试任何别的。如今发现还是有不
少人知道麦肯希而不知道波士顿的，一说起bcg，就是“oh, it's a consulting firm
JUST LIKE McKinsey."令人懊恼。赫赫。
