有多困难？有一定的统计背景，交流能力还好，专业背景可能只能靠这个master in
finance了。不过可以考个CFA来增砖添瓦。
俺非常感兴趣banking金融分析员之类的工作。
因为知道二流学校的国际学生MBA是非常不好找工的，不知道finance怎么样？
俺指的不是金融工程。
有没有行内人士给分析一下？？谢谢！ |

中国人在美国做金融，大部分都首选quant。做consulting要会bullshitting，而且似
乎工资也一般。你要是想去finance，就读多点统计数学计算机，要是consulting，就
多看看会计和strategy那种bullshitting的书。 |

salary.
Consulting would have much higher bonus that corporate guys could not get.
And from my observation, the mid-60k is not normal in consulting firms.
General starting salary is about 110k-120k. For corporate finance, it is
around 90k.

avg starting is 55k, if you choose to transfer to advisory (big four
standard), starting salary is about mid 60k. Undergrads get paid 45k-55k
depending on the city. in midwest mid-size cities, undergrads gets around
35k starting salary in corporate finance. MSF is what, one more year of
education + maybe a year of work/intern, how much premium do you expect to
get?

However, I know some MSCF guys who can get a salary not much lower than that
from MBA in IBs.

Bonus? kidding me. Do you think ML or MS mortgage backup division people
will still get any bonus this year? Depend on individuals' capability and
the market.
Common rule to compare is the base salary. That's the risk free number at
the point of entrance. Other than that, no meaning to discuss about coz you
don't even know the probability distribution of getting that amount of money.

my sample is more than you thought and not biased.
The big impact this year is from ML, MS，Citi, Bear Stearns..., but I still
know some others have not been influenced that much. Do you expect a
candidate to seek for a average trading position without think about the
bonus as a big plus? Kidding me.
