m*******n 发帖数: 7 | 7 I have studied German for a few years and been to Germany once. Most Germans
, even people on the street, speak very passable English (better than most
Chinese PhD students in the US, at least in terms of pronunciation and use

speak very good English. But the few French I met all speak with a very
heavy accent, and at least not at ease with the language. And there was a

a****s 发帖数: 282 | 10 Basically either German n or French speak English with accent. They seem not
like speaking English and feel fed up with American English.
French is much more internatonal. Getting to know French will faciliate the understanding of Spanish and Italian. And Deutsch is limited used in certain countries.
Both languages are much more difficult to learn than English. |

speak better anglician. normal joe was kind of very mundane in their english

better than in Italy, which I went to prior to Duetscheland. maybe in places
like Frankfurt, people are more able.
why not pick up Italian, very easy and sounds kind of nice, a bit cocky, but
not bad. unlike German, which sounds so rude. the old joke: you can't tell
