equity research and the pay is not that bad.
does this area really die down going forward or transfer to another format

At buy side, you work with portfolio managers to identify investment ideas (
what stock to buy at what price and when to sell). You may cover a particul
ar country, segment, or just research whatever you want.
At sell side, you basically cover a particular industry and write research r
eports regularly with buy/hold/sell ratings and target prices.
At buy side, your clients are fund investors. You pitch or idea must make re
al money.
