Many business schools don't even offer a PhD in Econ (usually just a
department of economics NOT under Business school). The pay is general from
$50-60K.
In terms of the process, just go to each school's website and look at their
requirements. Many will ask for a statement of purpose to understand why
you want to pursue a PhD.
