He/she should ask himself/herself two questions.
Q1. Why did I want to apply to "美国工科牛校"?
Q2. Why did I want to apply to "英国10名左右商学院"?
If he/she doesn't have a clear answer, his/her personal statements might be
good reference.

The b-school opportunity is a research project that matches his background
well (math stuff maybe..).
He doesn't know anyone who has a b-school phd, and he'd like to know more
about this...

虑清楚了。
没别的意思，就是考虑清楚，可以避免以后走很多弯路。

发帖数: 117 | 8 No problem，其实主要是想问下，这类非top商学院PhD读出来工作是不是也很难找，因为理工科即使是top学校phd出来也有很多因为身份问题没有正式工作，只能一直postdoc，因为每年phd毕业的太多了，但似乎b-school毕业生（相对来说）工作好找一些。听说fresh phd出来基本都有100k以上？

发帖数: 18319 | 9 英国的情况我也不了解。phd要几年的时间，身份的问题现在考虑可能有些早，我的意
思是不必太担心。商学院找教职也不太容易，或者说是看个人的接受程度。也有很多人
参加社会工作，待遇也确实不错。可以考虑到金融机构做行业研究员，如果数学，编程
能力不错，也可以考虑往金融工程方向发展。我觉得金融工程发展的前景还是很广阔，
但是现在也是觉得有点儿过热。
