发帖数: 148 | 1 现在正在申请美国学校PhD，要录取我的学校中包括有如下几个方向：
human-computer interaction; computer graphics and visualization; grid
computing and applications
我自己的背景是做过３Ｄ－ＧＩＳ，可视化和数据库相关的开发都做过，根据自己的背
景，主要是对可视化相关的东西有兴趣，所以graphics和ＨＣＩ也算相关．而网格方面
的东西是因为在应用层面正好要跟GIS接上，所以看中了我的开发经验以及在相关应用
领域上的一点经验．
现在了解了一下这几个方向后，可以说都比较有兴趣：3D HCI比较新,发展得很快,但学
校里做的研究有很多偏心理学的experiment的部分而非软件/算法开发导向; graphics&
visualization算一个相对传统的方向,和system software development很容易能接上,
具体做的东西可能scientific visualization(graphics techniques involved),

graphics应用多一点，也不太多，理论一些，转方向容易一点，和computer vision可
以结合

Grid computing projects are usually government related or military related.
It is not easy for a foreigner to get a position.

用软件绘图？还是设计绘图的软件？

The areas that I mentioned are closely related to CG.

It is indeed a hard decision for me. Personally, as for CG, it has a
theoretical aspect, which can hardly lead to industry. But, for the
university which gives me an offer, the CG and visualization there are not
so theory/pure algorithm-oriented.

computing there, I find grid computing is mainly focused on "computing", as
the greater subject is High-Performance Computing.
I think what you say is a general idea. Can you extend it more?
It is worth discussing anyway. Thanks a lot!
