Stephen Harper announced on Monday the return of 4,450 hectares of farmland
expropriated a generation ago to build Mirabel airport.
About 125 farmers, who rent their land from Ottawa, will be allowed to buy
it back, more than 37 years after they were forced to sell to the federal
government to make room for the ill-fated Mirabel International Airport,
north of Montreal.
