Novel Two-Dimensional Nanomaterials and Their Electronic and Spintronic
Applications
Call for Papers
The quickening pace of CMOS technology scaling is accelerating the
introduction of emerging and thriving nanomaterials and nanotechnology in
the last two decades. Low-dimensional materials, especially 2D materials, in
the nanometer scale offer intriguing physical properties and undiscovered
pathways toward revolutionary new devices and diverse applications. Novel 2D
nanomaterials, including graphene, MoS2, topological insulators, and others
, are interdiscipline areas with significant scientific and technological
interests. Understanding of the fundamentals and utilizing the unique
properties of these nanomaterials towards electronic and spintronic
applications will open up new avenues for next generation nanoelectronics
and spintronics.
We invite investigators to contribute high-quality, original research
articles as well as review articles that will stimulate the continuing
efforts to study the emerging 2D nanomaterials and their applications. We
are particularly interested in articles describing development of the state
of art material nanofabrication/synthesis methods and characterization of
unique fundamental physical properties which have potential electronic and
spintronic applications. Special interests will also be given to papers
exploring device applications, for example, nanoelectronic, energy storage
and photovoltaic, optoelectronic, and spintronic applications and sensors.
Potential topics include, but are not limited to:
Novel 2D nanomaterials: synthesis, structure, and fundamental properties
New 2D materials (graphene, MoS2, PbS, GaSe, etc.) and their electrical and
optical applications
Fundamental properties of topological insulators-based 2D materials such as
Bi2Se3, Bi2Te3, and (BiSb)xTey and other new topological insulator materials
Ferromagnetism in magnetic topological insulator systems, spin-orbit torque,
and spin-transport in topological insulator-based heterostructures
Nanomaterials for device applications (nanoelectronics, energy storage and
photovoltaic, and optoelectronic applications, sensors, etc.)
Novel micro-/nanoelectronic devices: nanofabrication, characterization,
simulation, and reliability
Authors can submit their manuscripts via the Manuscript Tracking System at http://mts.hindawi.com/submit/journals/jnm/nldn/.
