JOB DESCRIPTION:
Analytical Senior Scientist opening for someone with practical experience in
the area of microscopy, surface science, x-ray diffraction and other
material evaluation technologies. This position will be responsible for "
hands on" work leading the Analytical Science lab in the evaluation and
characterization of materials and products. This position is bonus eligible
and relocation is available for eligible candidates.
Responsibilities
•Lead the material characterization efforts within the corporate
Analytical Science facility to solve material related problems
•Apply material science expertise to solve variety of customer
problems involving newproducts, process problems, failure analysis, customer
complaints, and intellectual property.
•Collaborate with other scientists to understand their material
characterization needs and develop and apply techniques to address these
needs
•Work closely with team members and management to identify growth
areas for analytical capabilities and technologies
•Other duties as typical and required
Requirements
•The ideal candidate will have a degree in Materials Engineering or
Materials Science (Chemistry degree will also be considered with applicable
experience)
•Approximately 10 or more years material characterization experience.
•Must have extensive hands-on experience in X-ray diffraction,
scanning electron microscopy and surface analysis
•Knowledge of thermal analysis, rheology, and failure analysis of
polymers preferred
•Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written with a
demonstrated ability to collaborate with other scientific disciplines to
identify and solve complex problems
•Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and able to adapt to
frequent changes in priorities and projects | s*******0
