Former Motorola engineer gets 4-year sentence for stealing secrets
A former Motorola software engineer who lived in Schaumburg was sentenced
Wednesday to four years in prison for stealing trade secrets from the
company.
Hanjuan Jin was found guilty in February on three counts of theft of trade
secrets but was cleared of economic espionage charges that accused her of
intending to pass the information to the Chinese military.
Jin faced a maximum of 10 years in prison on each count.
Jin, a naturalized U.S. citizen who was born in China, worked for Motorola
from 1998 to 2007. Federal authorities stopped her Feb. 28, 2007, during a
random search at O'Hare International Airport. Jin had a one-way ticket to
Beijing.
Customs agents discovered $30,000 in her luggage, as well as more than 1,000
confidential technical documents -- paper copies and on her computer hard
drive. A later search of her home found evidence that Jin had consulted on
projects for a company in China since 2004 and e-mails indicating she
intended to return to China to work for the company.
Jin waived her right to a jury trial, putting her case in the hands of U.S.
District Judge Ruben Castillo, who sentenced her Wednesday.

现在经济不好，各位中国人要自尊，自爱啊。为了点蝇头小利不值。做人就得正
不正的人哪里都有。美国人如果有这机会，不正的人也会干这事的。这跟人品有关。跟
族裔无关。

我问你，你回国超过5次以上，有多少次被美国这里点名抽查行李的？

我从前也在这个行业，深知道华人在这方面有大问题。
搞个小公司，倒卖军用芯片、禁运仪器之类的，这类的事情太多了
出事之后才知道，这是间谍罪，不是投机倒把罪。
混球时报之流还是喜欢忽悠华人说是被歧视，搞得其他人还继续搞类似活动
