about a friend's wisdom teeth problem.
he said it depends on the root growth of your teeth - some may never cause
any trouble, which means you do not need to do anything.
for some cases there are other procedures you can try first without
extraction (much cheaper too) - such as removing the gum tissue overlaying
the troubled tooth, because the pain was caused by hitting the gum. then if
you can clean the teeth well (because the wisdom teeth are far back), you do
not need extraction.
for some cases, it depends how difficult to remove the tooth (depending on
dentist's kills and how your tooth root grows), the price mayb be different
(some may require to cut the bone to get the root, some may just wiggle it
out) you should ask, to avoid surprise.
it is not true that you have to take 4 out together.
I am not a dentist. I can only remember this much what he said.
Dentistry is a procedure oriented profession. Dentists tend to push for
procedures and sometimes may not warranted (because making more money). But
at the same time, I have noticed people tend to think they have better care
if there is procedure done to them. Like this friend I mentioned earlier, my
husband said he did not need the extraction at this time. But his own
dentist recommended extraction for 4 and he plans to get it done.
so bottom line is you need to find a dentist you trust. | l**s
