ticket是court appearance required,说三周后会寄来罚单和上庭指示。我查了一下发
现IL从14年开始把超速超过26迈归类为Class B misdemeanor, 重则可能有jail time，
而且可能影响外国人的身份问题（她是H1B）。鉴于她这次是初次拿ticket,想请教一下
哪位同学有相关经验。或者有没有推荐的attorney. 非常感谢。 |

the end result is fine plus traffic school
a good lawyer is a must and you must be prepared to go to trial if necessary
. You must insist that misdemeanor at any level is not acceptable to you.

online for a lawyer specialized in this kind of cases and who practice a lot
in the court that your wife will report to.

Say you rather take lager fine and longer traffic school than having a
record.

其实65-75速度真的不算快的。IL的限速真坑，就是cash machine。 |

假如你太太近1-2年没拿过罚单，我猜律师可以bargain down到一种轻很多的罚款，但
总的out of pocket expense 对你来说差不多，少给政府的给律师了。但估计你现在不
是担心钱的问题。
我建议就去yelp上搜评分好的几个律师，然后打电话咨询下就对outcome和开销心里有
数了。
我之前选过一家认为不错的事务所，结果当天律师都没来，让另外一个人来，手里握了
一打Tickets，好像打包一样一下递给检察官，然后讨价还价每个ticket。到法官叫我
的时候就是走个过场，因为律师已经和检察官讨论好了。最后罚钱挺多，但1年court
supervision后不留底。

violation，然后钱照交。这个不用律师，而且第一次去法院也不是上庭，只是约上庭
时间。约了上庭时间之后，再找律师。如果超速太多，或者多次超速，基本就不一样了
。基本都是找个律师，交钱了事。超速又不是DUI。基本没事。多做功课，知道该说啥
，不该说啥就行。每个地区都不一样，说的也不一定对。给你参考吧 |

civil speeding cases are completely different

contacted one attorney and was told that my wife could actually sign an
affidavit to give him authority appearing in court on her behalf and she
doesn't even need to show up, which sounds new to me in the hearing process.
Were you offered similar options in your case? Thanks again!

in our case, the initial court appearance took care of everything
if your attorney enters a not guilty plead on your behalf without striking a
deal, then no personal appearance is required
but your wife needs to show up later to settle in front of the judge I think
I don't like multiple appearances since it drags out the process but maybe
that's how is always done in that county
good thing is that smaller county may want money more and that can be
favorable
process.

PS：这个超速都超50%以上了，相当疯狂了，太危险了。 |
