SPECIAL EVENT!
This week we are honored to have two professionals visiting our club.
Stephanie (Mingming) Yin and Ryan Li are both American 1 dan pros. They will
be in the Chicago area this week, and will come to the Evanston Go Club’s
regular Wednesday night meeting.
Ryan will play some simultaneous games with us. If you have never played a
simul against a pro, you owe it to yourself to come to the club and see for
yourself how strong they are. It’s a great learning experience, and fun too!
This is a very rare opportunity; we don’t often get professionals visiting
us. Don’t miss this chance to meet Ryan and Stephanie! As usual, the club
will meet from 6-10 PM, but Stephanie and Ryan may have to leave before we
close… so come as close to 6 as you can!
Mingming (Stephanie) Yin is a professional 1 dan in the American Go
Association. Pupil to Nei-Weiping 9 dan professional and Yu-Bing 9 dan
professional, Ms. Yin became a pro in 2007 and began her studies in the
United States shortly after. She lives in New York, teaches privately online
and in person, and holds workshops in both Chinese and English.
Ryan Li is a professional 1 dan in the American Go Association. He achieved
professional status by defeating Eric Lui in the 3rd AGA professional
qualification tournament on Jan. 9, 2015. He learned to play Go at age 6 in
Haidian Qiyuan in Beijing from Guang Shao. He is studying physics in Toronto. |
