masking a lot of pain among automakers there, according
to this weekend’s issue of Business Week.
The magazine notes that OEMs have been forced to
slash prices by as much as 15% in China because of a glut
of vehicles. It says falling prices and rising materials costs
have squeezed gross margins industrywide to 8.8% in the
first half of this year vs. 15.1% last year.
BW says the underlying problem is that too many

克莱斯勒挖通用中国的头除了想在中国搞大一点也没有别的理由。日本国内市场今年也
下降不少,除了丰田 本田,其他的也想在中国多卖点。VW在中国被通用超越,主要是
因为他们覆盖的车型没有通用多,而且他们一直不想让上汽推出自己的品牌,但是他们
和上汽的合作这么多年,也算树大根深了。这些合资的主要面向中国市场,相反纯国产
的厂考虑出口比较多。中国人民越来越有钱,通用这些公司在中国卖的车也会越来越高
端(过不了几年就不用在国内说accord Camry是高档车了)。
