for study. Look what he said' 50 dollars per month to call their family in
China'. I have nevr heard anybody spend even 10 dollars per month in this area
due to the fact that the fee is only 2-4 cents for most phone card. 50 dollars
means around 2000 minutes' call. so his poor guy spend more than 30 hours to
call his family? is it possible for most studentts here?

then $1.1, then $0.8, then $0.6~$0.4.
then the calling card to China appeared.
when the rate was $1.6, it is normal to spend $300/month.
at that time, the first thing to do after got the phone bill was
calling the phone company to argue the bill. even there was no
any mistake, just kept arguing I could get about $80 discount. hehe.
of course, I disagree the original post.

你可以说自己的情况不一样，但是不要动不动就给人套个liar的帽子。这习惯不好。

and the price is around 14 cent/min.( which I think quite cheap since it was
33 cents/min in 1999). Also, much cheaper compare to Chinese price.---it costs
my mum 17 Chinese dollars per minutes if she called me from our small town. so
I called home very often, so that she will not call me. in this way, save some
money.
50 dollars is nothing if you really really miss your families.
