One's social identity is important to one's self evaluation.
When there are social groups with different power, resouces
in the society, members of lower status group have the following opitions to
raise one's self-esteem:
A: to leave the lower status group, and join the higher status group (if the
group boundry is permeable)
B: (Social creativity)to reevalute the meanings of the dimensions of concern,
or to focus different comparsions
C: to raise one's group stat |
