Does "gravity floor framing" means the slabs without beams connected to the
columns directly?
Thank you.

以想建筑师应该会推荐无梁楼板系统, 无梁楼板的英文应该如何表达呢?
谢谢!

hight requirement. The "slab without beams or drop bands" is what you want
to know?
Actually, it doesn't matter. I think it might be a residential building. If
the span is larger than 30 ft, you may consider the Post-Tensioned (PT)
slabs with 8'' or 9'' thickness.

for more accurate answer.
Simple answer will be: Floor framing only take gravity load. For wood floor,
that will be floor joist or floor truss member. For concrete floor, it
might be floor beam or joist members only taking gravity load.

R**********n 发帖数: 1109 | 7 Thanks a lot for your in depth explanation. Yes, as you said, I looked Table
9.5 of ACI 318, and it seems that for 8 inches slabs without interior beams
, the largest span can go to 20 ft for exterior slabs and 22 ft for interior
slabs.
Have a nice day.
