A global architecture practice, with growing Asian offices, is looking to
appoint a senior level candidate to head up their Masterplanning business in
Shanghai. This is a significant appointment for this ambitious design firm
and they are looking for individuals who can help them grow their China team
and lead their Masterplanning and Urban Design portfolio as Director in the
future. They are looking for candidates with an understanding and intimate
knowledge of Chinese masterplanning. As such, they hope to speak to
candidates who have participated in China's urban planning agenda in recent
years and would rate someone with academic connections in universities in
China very highly. The ideal applicant will be a proven team leader and
someone capable of generating business and future workload. Mandarin fluency
is essential as are strong English skills. The practice has clear plans for
future growth and is already gaining a great reputation for design in China
. They consider this role key to their business and as such are able offer a
strong salary in addition to a clearly defined path to Directorship within

across Asia, Europe and the US. In China, they have grown into an extremely
strong architectural practice and are currently looking to take on a senior
level candidate to manage and grow one of their new design studios. Working
closely with the senior design management, the successful applicant will be
responsible for the design and delivery of a number of key projects in China
. Leading a team of architectural staff it will be up to the Associate
Director to manage the design process effectively in order to deliver
meaningful solutions to clients. Design ability is key and my client wishes
to speak to candidates with a background working on large, complex and
highly innovative schemes. Prior experience in China would be preferable but
is not essential. A firm commitment to relocation and an understanding of

requirement for a number of senior level Chartered Structural Engineers to
work on major mixed-use / retail / high-rise developments in the PRC.
Opportunities exist in a number of locations including Shenyang, Dalian and
Chengdu. Proficiency in design, administration and structural detailing of
high-end commercial and mixed-use projects is required. Candidates with
Expert Review Panel and / or National Review Panel experience are highly
desirable. The client would like to hear from individuals with the following
qualifications: MHKIE, MIStruct or equivalent. The client will also
consider less experienced candidates with experience using Perform 3D and
