Besides orchestral elements, it casts high demands on the four singers.
So typically the cast in most performances on CDs are very strong.
As far as I know, there are a lot of famous CDs for this work.
1. Toscanini (RCA)
2. Sabata
3. Fricsay (DG)
This is the only one I listened to. Although it is mono, although
its singers are not as famous as 4, the recording and performance
