Dave Bradley here. I recruit in the optics industry. Most of my clients are
the usual names in the world of defense and government contracting along
with the optical component and laser manufacturing companies that supply
them.
For a client of mine in sunny Southern California, a developer of custom
optics I have Thin Film Engineer or perhaps better described as a Costing-
Estimating Engineer with thin film experience. The salary for this position
will range up to a maximum of about 75K or so and the core responsibilites
and requirements are described below.
Requirements and Responsibilities:
* Serve as a general point of contact for customers.
* Generate sales quotations along with supporting technical and costing
documentation.
* Review and proscribe changes to router packets for work orders conveying
any customer furnished or other necessary information to provide for
complete and sufficient work instructions.
* Provide production with coating designs and documentation as needed.
* Assist production with analysis of coatings and recommend design
adjustments.
* Assist production with abnormal or difficult spectrophotometer
measurements.
* Assist quality department as needed for difficult or abnormal inspect
process development.
* Create and test programs for automated scribe cutting processes using CAD
. Work with technicians to troubleshoot program errors.
* Assist as a source of technical knowledge regarding thin films and
related information.
If you would like to be considered for the position if only to learn more
please email a copy of your resume to d*[email protected]. I'll respond
with a brief list of questions for you to answer.
Okay, that's it at the moment. If you find this email intrusive, no problem
, let me know and I will remove your name from the list (hopefully not
because these mailing lists are a data management nightmare). You are
receiving this email because your name and contact information resides in
the The Photonics Group database as a result of prior contact by one of our
recruiters and you have had some involvement in thin film engineering. All
of our positions require prior experience in optics or more generally
photonics. I send out mass emails infrequently so hopefully you can
tolerate the occasional annoucement.
Thanks very much,
Dave Bradley
