Ph.D. Research Assistantships Available
Starting from August 2017 or January 2018
The Laboratory of Medical Imaging and Informatics in the School of Computing
at University of Southern Mississippi, USA, is currently looking for two
highly motivated Ph.D. students for research oncardiovascular image analysis
and machine learning. Supported by an American Heart Association grant, an
important goal of this research is to develop and validate new computer
algorithms and techniques to improve the diagnosis and treatment of patients
with heart diseases. We have established research collaborations with
leading USA and China hospitals and our software packages are being used by
several clinical trials. Students have opportunities to work with
cardiologists and finish their dissertations in leading hospitals.
Successful candidates will receive a scholarship for their research work,
which coverstheir tuition and living expenses, and receive a Ph.D. degree in
Computer Science after completing the program.
(1) We are especially interested in candidateswith MS degrees incomputer
science, mathematics,engineering (computer, biomedical, electrical, etc.),
or physics (medical or nuclear physics). Candidates with Bachelor degrees
and outstanding academic records will also be fully considered. Experience
in image processing / machine learning will be a plus.
