Hanahreum Group, a New Jersey-based supermarket chain that specializes in
Asian food, has bought the former Albertsons building at 5036 W. 92nd Ave.
in Westminster for about $2 million.
The company plans to open an H Mart in the next few months at the 43,146-
square-foot location, city officials confirmed.
"The city is always pleased to see vacant lots filled," Westminster
spokeswoman Katie Harberg said. "We believe it's really going to help
invigorate the area, ... and welcoming a new different retailer is always
fun."
The Westminster location will carry grocery items of a "broad international
nature," in addition to its selection of Asian food products, according to a
brief in a weekly city newsletter.
H Mart operates one other Colorado location, on South Parker Road in Aurora.
Albertsons abandoned three Westminster locations in 2007 when it closed nine
stores across the state, following an earlier wave of 16 closures.
