will be returning to the XL Center, located at 1 Civic Center
Plaza on Trumbull Street, on Wednesday, May 30th. Doors for the event will
open at 6:45am with an approximate show start time of
8:00am. The event concludes at 4:45pm. Commuters and local businesses should
be prepared for a major influx of people to
the downtown area, as well as heavy traffic surrounding Hartford.
This year’s event features an impressive lineup of public figures,
dignitaries, athletes & celebrities including: Bill O’Reilly, Bill Cosby,
Eli
Manning, Geno Auriemma, Erin Brockovich, Mario Cuomo, Barbara Corcoran,
Marcus Luttrell, and Stephen M.R. Covey. Lineup is
subject to change. Tickets can be purchased in advance at GetMotivated.com.
The event is expected to draw over 15,000 people to the arena – generating
heavy traffic surrounding downtown Hartford.
Commuters should expect significant traffic volumes during the morning &
late afternoon hours on May 30. People expecting
to park downtown may have challenges finding available parking spaces.
Commuters are asked to please be patient with the
expected high volume of traffic coming into and leaving Hartford.
The corporate community in downtown Hartford is asked to please alert their
commuting staff of the traffic advisory. Commuters are
encouraged to consider the following options for transportation on Wednesday
, May 30th:
• Leave for work early
• Carpool with another person and use H.O.V lanes (reserved for
vehicles with two or more passengers)
• Utilize public transportation (visit cttransit.com or call 860-525-
9181 for schedules)
• Park your car at a Suburban Park & Drive lot with a CT Transit bus (
if available) or park your car at a lot outside of Hartford
• Use Amtrak – trains depart from Springfield, Windsor Locks, and
Windsor with Hartford arrivals before 8:00am
