Tea Leoni was approached to play Rachel. Janeane Garofalo was offered the role
of Monica. Jon Cryer was first offered the role of Chandler. They all turned
down the parts
Lisa Kudrow was hired and then fired for the role of Roz on Frasier before she
got her role as Phoebe.
They wanted Courteney Cox for Rachel but she wanted to do Monica
Sept 94 - First season Friends get $17,500 per episode
Sept 95 - they get a raise to $30,000 per episode
