作为一个70后猥琐男，也来说说个人总结。
从小肥军裤加马桶盖子头，一直与花生无缘。不过从大学快毕业的时候开始，收集 Air
Jordan 十多双。不过更像音响发烧友，而不是时尚的感觉。
留学的时候，也没什么钱，最多灯芯绒裤佩格子休闲衬衣，无非是真维丝一类，混过关
了事。其实更多的时候是汗衫加短裤。
工作了才稍微注意一点形象，开始是橡胶共和国，正装是 Macy's 的内部品牌 ALFANI
。因为不懂，所以尺寸也不合身，领带还是在国内工作单位开会加旅游时，地方“孝敬
”的。凑或着戴。
休闲一直是阿迪的黑人绒布说唱裤，高帮篮球鞋（反正多的要命）。其实也没什么机会
穿。阿迪的咚咚不少。
快30了，才开始稍微注意一点。对西服版型和合身挑剔一点。由于体格原因，要不得订
做 athletic cut, 要不只有 GA 的 colleccio |

言归正传， 皮带推荐ted baker， Armani的西装是很赞， 你下次可以去试试Dolce &
Gabbana （or D&G， 便宜点）和theory的。休闲的多看看日本有本杂志叫Safari将很
多搭配， 呵呵~

拉登，现在全世界最先进的textile machine都集中在中国了，GA，Zegna,甚至像
Cerruti这样的老牌haute couture都在国内造的, burberry的总厂也搬到东莞了。建议
下次有机会回国可以先去北京秀水市场的四楼看看，那里有专门买料子的和n多tailor。
从料子来说，有各种支数和颜色的棉布，化纤的，羊毛的可以选，从tweed、到各种
checkered pattern，到高支数的各种shade的pin stripe（130's and
higher)，应有尽有。
从style来说，量体定做的dress shirt 是120rmb一件，样式随便定，他们可以做出各
种领子和袖子的style，比如spread collar，traditional english，oxford，
american，tall， shallow，french cuff，slim tapered cut等等。西装也是一样。
我上次是直接拿GQ和Men's Vogue过去，那儿的tailor 看一眼就知道是什么style，

fact, it doesn't matter which one you go, the actual suits are all made in
large sweatshops running around the clock in the suburb. Usually, the head
tailor sits in the shop during the day and takes measurements for the
customers. Then the orders are taken back to the factories during the night
when the actual work is done.
这个用裁缝跟用律师很像，裁缝也会看人。这些裁缝大多数是扬州附近出来的。大部分
国内顾客，尤其是国内的北方顾客，对tailored clothes 和料子没有经验，place
order的时候也说不出道道来

是关键部位了。tailoring里面还是有很多讲究的，就跟玩车差不多。西装第一看肩膀
和领子，然后看袖子和armpit的剪裁，然后是chest和腰身，最后是下摆。领子肩膀一
定要服帖，就像粘在身上一样。euro version 的armpit一般裁得很高，然后袖子比较
窄。胸部较紧，里面就穿衬衫或vest。腰部taper一定要恰到好处。目前我在美国见到
穿西装最顺眼的是Steve Cobert,不过他的style还是比较偏american。还有比较classy
的是Cary Grant，他在西北偏北里面的西装可以当样板了。
国内，尤其是北方的裁缝，上来就assume你的jacket里面要穿毛衣，裤子里面要套秋裤
，所以别大头针试衣服的时候一定要坚绝。而且很多时候不是一次到位的，而是要来回
试若干position才能达到你想要的效果，所以不能怕麻烦，一直找到你想要的look为止。
跟裁缝打交道就跟理发差不多，给instruction要越具体越好。

I have a cotton suit that fits perfectly. I suspect it's easy for them to
measure an existing suit and replicate it with wool (super 1XXs, etc.)?
It sounds stupid because why wouln't they just measure the real person?
Problem is, the real person is flesh and bones, and measurements can easily
be off depending on how you do it (Eg. one's dress pants inseam is quite
different than the cycling inseam. In fact, flat front pants inseam is
different than pleated pants inseam). |

because these two fabrics behave differently (e.g., wool can stretch, cotton
can't; wool falls effortlessly, cotton sticks to the body; etc.) But you
should be able to get something that's very close to a ideal fit. When you
pick the fabric, go with the highest number you can find/afford (130's, 150'
s, or 180's if you are lucky), you will see the difference.
